Barely Surviving: The Unsolicited Job Advice – It’s Always… Something

At some point during your job search journey, you'll be hit with the unsolicited advice from everyone and their grandmother. “Have you tried LinkedIn? It’s like, super helpful!” or “You should probably start networking.” Oh, really? That never occurred to me! But my favorite has to be, “Have you thought about trying a different industry?”

Oh, you mean maybe I should just become a zookeeper instead of a data analyst?

Sometimes it feels like everyone is a career coach until they need to explain exactly how they got their last job. Suddenly, they’re too busy… or don’t remember the process… or got lucky. Hmm…
